What video formats are supported?

Any format your browser can decode natively works — typically MP4 (H.264), WebM (VP8/VP9), and MOV. For other formats like AVI or MKV, the tool automatically falls back to FFmpeg WASM.

How do I reduce the GIF file size?

Shorten the clip, reduce output width, or lower the FPS. GIFs are uncompressed by nature so short clips (under 10s) produce the most manageable file sizes.

What does dithering do?

GIFs support only 256 colors per frame. Dithering uses error-diffusion to approximate more colors by scattering the quantization error to neighboring pixels, reducing visible color banding at the cost of slightly larger files. Atkinson is a good default.
