How to download Instagram Reels and videos

Instagram has no save button for other people's Reels, so the only way to keep one is to grab the file the app already streams. This downloader resolves that direct CDN URL and gives you the original upload — same resolution, same bitrate, and no Instagram watermark burned in.

How do I download Instagram Reels without the watermark?

This tool adds nothing of its own, so you get exactly the file Instagram stores — there is no Luxa watermark and no Instagram overlay on the CDN copy.
One thing no downloader can fix: if the creator recorded or exported the Reel with a TikTok or CapCut watermark already burned into the pixels, that watermark is part of the image data itself. Removing it would mean cropping or re-encoding, which visibly degrades the clip.

How do I download an Instagram Story?

Stories from public accounts can sometimes be resolved by pasting the story URL, but they disappear after 24 hours and Instagram changes how they are served fairly often, so it is less reliable than Reels. Highlights, which are permanent, work more consistently — open the highlight, copy its link and paste it above.

Can I download Reels in 1080p?

You get whatever resolution Instagram stored, which for most Reels is 1080x1920. Instagram re-encodes uploads on ingest, so if the original was compressed on upload there is no higher-quality version to recover — the downloader never reduces quality below what Instagram serves.

Can I download from a private Instagram account?

No. Private account media requires a logged-in session that has been approved as a follower. This tool does not accept Instagram credentials or cookies, so private content cannot be resolved — and content posted to a private account was explicitly not published for wider distribution.

Does the account owner know I downloaded their Reel?

No. Downloading requests the media file the same way viewing it does, so there is no notification and no separate view event. That said, reposting someone's Reel without credit or permission is a copyright issue regardless of how you obtained the file.
