How to download Telegram videos

Every public Telegram channel has a web-visible version at t.me, and the videos posted there are served over ordinary HTTP. This tool resolves that file so you can save it without installing Telegram or joining the channel.

It works for public channels only. Private channels, private groups and direct messages are not exposed on the web and cannot be resolved — use Telegram's own save button for those, which works without any third-party tool.

  • Open the post in a public channel and use 'Copy Post Link' — the URL looks like t.me/channelname/123.
  • Paste it above and click 'Get Download Link'.
  • Preview the video to confirm it is the right post.
  • Click Download to save the file.
  • If the channel is private, open the video in the Telegram app and use its built-in download button instead.
Can I download from a private Telegram channel or group?
  • No. Private channels and groups are not published to the web at all, so there is no URL for our resolver to fetch. Telegram's own apps already let you save any video you can see, including in private chats — that is the right tool for those.
  • Some channels also enable content protection, which disables saving even inside the app. Those posts cannot be downloaded by any method.
Do I need a Telegram account to use this?
  • No. Public channel posts are visible to anyone on the web, and this tool reads them the same way a logged-out browser would. No account, no phone number, no app.
What is the maximum file size?
  • Telegram allows very large uploads — up to 2 GB, or 4 GB for Premium users. Resolving works regardless of size, but downloading a multi-gigabyte file through a browser is slow and easy to interrupt. For large files, copy the direct URL and use a download manager that supports resuming.
Why does my t.me link fail to resolve?
  • The usual causes are a private channel, a channel with content protection enabled, or a link to the channel itself rather than to a specific post. Make sure the URL ends with a post number, like t.me/channelname/123.
