How to download TikTok videos

TikTok's own save button is disabled by many creators, and when it does work it burns a watermark and the creator's username into the video. This downloader resolves the direct CDN file instead, which is usually the cleaner copy.

Both the full tiktok.com URL and the shortened vm.tiktok.com / vt.tiktok.com links from the app's Share menu work.

  • Tap Share on the TikTok and choose 'Copy link'.
  • Paste it above and click 'Get Download Link'.
  • Check the preview, then pick the highest quality on offer.
  • Click Download to save the MP4 file.
  • On iPhone, tap Share → Save to Files if the video opens in a new tab rather than downloading.
Can I download TikToks without the watermark?
  • Often, but it is not guaranteed. TikTok stores several renditions of each video and only some of them carry the animated watermark, so a clean copy is frequently available through the direct CDN URL.
  • When TikTok only serves watermarked renditions for a given video, no downloader can strip the mark without re-encoding and cropping, which visibly degrades the clip. Be sceptical of any site promising guaranteed watermark removal at full quality.
How do I download the sound from a TikTok?
  • If an 'Audio only' format is listed in the quality dropdown, pick that. Otherwise download the MP4 and extract the audio track with our audio converter. Remember that TikTok sounds are usually licensed music — extracting it for personal listening is very different from republishing it.
Do vm.tiktok.com short links work?
  • Yes. The short links produced by the app's Share menu are resolved automatically to the full video URL, so you can paste either form.
Why does a TikTok fail to resolve?
  • The usual causes are a deleted or private video, a region-locked upload, or a creator who has restricted downloads and embedding. TikTok also rate-limits aggressively — if several attempts fail in a row, waiting a minute and retrying often works.
