How to download Snapchat Spotlight videos

Snapchat is built around content that disappears, so almost nothing on it can be saved from the outside. The exception is Spotlight — Snapchat's public, TikTok-style feed, which is served over the open web and can be downloaded like any other public video.

This tool handles snapchat.com/spotlight/ links. Stories, individual snaps sent to you, and Memories are not publicly addressable and cannot be resolved by any web downloader — that limitation is the entire point of the platform.

Open the Spotlight video on snapchat.com, or tap Share → Copy link in the app.
Check the URL contains /spotlight/ — other Snapchat links will not resolve.

Can I download Snapchat stories or private snaps?

No. Stories, private snaps and Memories all require an authenticated session and are deliberately not addressable by a public URL. No web-based downloader can reach them — anything claiming otherwise is either asking for your Snapchat login or simply not working.

Does the creator get notified if I download their Spotlight video?

No. Spotlight has no download notification — that mechanism exists for private snaps and screenshots, not for public Spotlight posts. Downloading requests the file the same way watching it does.

Will the video have a Snapchat watermark?

You get the file exactly as Snapchat stores it. Some creators export their videos with a watermark already burned in from Snapchat's own editor or from another app, and that becomes part of the image data — no downloader can remove it cleanly.

Why does my Snapchat link fail?

Almost always because it is not a Spotlight link. Check that the URL contains /spotlight/. Deleted videos and region-restricted Spotlight posts will also fail to resolve.
