How to download Twitch clips and VODs

Twitch clips are short, self-contained MP4s and download quickly and reliably. Full VODs are long HLS streams — they resolve, but a multi-hour broadcast is a very large file and downloading it through a browser is slow and fragile.

For clips, this tool is the fastest route. For an entire VOD, a desktop tool with resume support will serve you better.

  • Copy the clip or VOD URL — clips look like clips.twitch.tv/... or twitch.tv/channel/clip/...
  • Paste it above and click 'Get Download Link'.
  • Pick the highest resolution, usually 720p60 or 1080p60 for recent content.
  • Click Download to save the file.
  • For a multi-hour VOD, copy the direct URL instead and feed it to a download manager that can resume.
Can I download an entire Twitch VOD?
  • Technically yes, but a several-hour broadcast can run to many gigabytes, and a browser download with no resume support will usually fail partway. Copy the resolved URL and pass it to a download manager instead.
Can I download sub-only VODs?
  • No. Subscriber-only content requires an authenticated session tied to an active subscription, which this tool does not use.
Can I download a live Twitch stream?
  • No. This tool resolves recorded content. A live stream has no fixed endpoint to save — recording it requires a capture tool running for the duration of the broadcast.
Do Twitch clips keep 60fps?
  • Yes. If the clip was captured at 60fps, the downloaded file keeps the original frame rate — nothing here re-encodes the video.
